Bolenum, an Ethereum-based startup focused on Africa, opened its presale today with a full public ICO scheduled to launch July 15. The project aims to raise funds through the sale of 5 million BLN tokens.
The platform intends to address financial inclusion across Africa by bundling three services: a payment system, a trading exchange, and a wallet.

Bolenum's founders identified education as the primary barrier to crypto adoption on the continent. Most people lack basic knowledge about digital assets and how to use them. The team plans to tackle this gap through the infrastructure itself and via educational programs and marketing funded by the ICO.
The exchange mechanism targets a specific problem. Traditional trading platforms often deny African customers access to cryptocurrencies. Bolenum's exchange converts local currency into BLN tokens, then allows holders to trade those tokens for any other digital asset on secondary markets. Someone in Lagos buying BLN with naira gains access to the full cryptocurrency ecosystem without requesting permission from gatekeepers.
The BLN token serves two functions. It acts as a payment method and as a store of value. By operating on Ethereum, it inherits that network's speed and security guarantees.
ICO proceeds will fund development of the platform, education initiatives, and marketing across target regions.
