The initiative targets up to 1,000 projects throughout the region. Applicants receive access to BCB's workshops and development facilities, which offer technical assistance and training. The company also offers direct financial support. BCB reserved $2.8 million for projects built on its blockchain platform to attract more developers to the protocol.

The announcement builds on BCB's partnerships with leading accelerators across Southeast Asia. The company has partnered with the Department of Science and Technology in the Philippines. BCB signed a memorandum of understanding with the Access Blockchain Association, registered under Malaysia's Ministry of Home Affairs. The company also formed a partnership with the Institute of Blockchain Singapore to reach students and emerging startups. Through these partnerships, BCB identifies mature projects and provides support on funding, technology, workspace, and business strategy.

CEO Douglas Gan said, "As BCB continues to grow its ecosystem, we realize the vast potential of blockchain technology in everyday applications. We are looking at holistic approaches to support and reach out to existing and upcoming projects on the BCB protocol." He added, "The launch of the grant is part of this approach, as we look to support our partners in the midst of a challenging economic climate."
