A Swiss-headquartered digital asset payment handler known as PayBear has undergone a transformation, changing its name to Savvy while unveiling a pair of new offerings designed to broaden its reach beyond traditional merchant operations. The company, operating from Zug, disclosed the launches Monday following its shift into consumer-facing services.

Savvy's portfolio expansion includes an upgraded merchant application programming interface alongside a new digital wallet product accommodating multiple cryptocurrencies. The platform has already facilitated transactions totaling more than US$10 million and maintains relationships with approximately 3,000 business clients.

"We want to make things simple. Deliver on the promise of cryptocurrencies as a superior medium of exchange," founder Dr. Rolf Hoefer explained, noting that the company's push toward individual consumers alongside its educational mission shaped the rebranding strategy. "Our expansion into the consumer market, together with our commitment to educate users, drove a lot of the thinking behind the rebrand."

The merchant-focused product, now branded as Savvy Merchant, went live simultaneously with Savvy Wallet. According to Hoefer, the merchant version "aims to be the cheapest, easiest and most trustless payment processing solution for merchants to accept and manage cryptocurrencies today," while the company intends to venture further. "Yet, we believe cryptocurrencies should be more than just a medium of exchange, and we plan to help educate our users to navigate this fascinating landscape," he stated.

Savvy Wallet represents a comprehensive storage and transfer solution built around user accessibility. Handling over 50 distinct digital assets, the wallet incorporates standard encryption methodologies and includes functionality for consolidating fragmented ERC-20 token holdings. Hoefer emphasized that "Savvy Wallet strips away the complications and brings order and clarity for users" while functioning as infrastructure for the company's future expansion. The platform aspires toward becoming "a one-stop-shop for people entering, navigating, and exiting crypto, educating users while helping them earn, borrow, and manage their digital wallet with the peace of mind that they are taken care of in savvy ways."

Savvy Merchant accommodates Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Gold, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, Litecoin, Dash, Dai, and Binance Coin. The platform integrates directly with prevalent shopping systems including Magento, Opencart, PrestaShop, and WooCommerce, targeting retailers without technical backgrounds. Merchants operate without transaction charges and may settle through stablecoins for reduced volatility exposure. Hoefer concluded by highlighting future intentions: "Savvy is looking to increase the breadth of cryptocurrencies and fiat accepted on the platform while enabling passive yield and maintaining the industry's lowest payment processing fees for merchants at 0%."
