CoinDeal's launch early this year caught the attention of crypto traders. Within three months of opening, the Polish exchange processed $3 million in daily trading volumes.
Adam Bicz, Filip Dzierżak, and Kajetan Maćkowiak built the exchange after running buycoinnow.com and Paycoiner.com, services that let users buy Bitcoin with credit cards and process crypto payments. Their experience in the space showed them what traders wanted.
"It is important to understand the other side of the business. I think it's our key to success," Maćkowiak said.
The team set out to build something they thought the industry needed: a secure place to buy and sell digital assets. They structured the platform around three pillars: security, community engagement, and continuing development.
CoinDeal gives its users a voice in what happens next. The exchange runs an affiliate program where traders earn a cut of fees from referrals, and they decide which cryptocurrencies appear on the platform. When trading in FTO/BTC spiked, the team created an FTO/EUR pair. They rolled out SHND/XRP as one of the first exchanges to offer the pairing.
The platform currently supports 20 trading pairs, including Bitcoin, Ripple, and the euro. CoinDeal plans to add more.
Traders can fund accounts using euros. Support staff answer questions around the clock in English, Chinese, and Polish. Users access the site in English, Chinese, German, and Korean, with Polish and Russian versions on the way.
Bicz, Dzierżak, and Maćkowiak traveled to New York for Consensus 2018 to build connections with U.S. regulators. They're pursuing a license to let American investors use the platform. The team also submitted applications to Swiss authorities, betting that top-tier security standards will help them reach Swiss investors.
For Bicz, a programmer, security is paramount. "As a programmer, the highest level of security is the most important for me. Every business dealing with its users' funds should keep it in mind," he said. Users can review the company's security standards on its website.
CoinDeal operates on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, VKontaktie, YouTube, and Telegram.
