Cardano, ranked ninth by market capitalization, reached $0.083 on Friday, up 4.73 percent. Quantum, ranked 29th, gained nearly 8 percent in 24 hours to $3.86.

Mati Greenspan, a senior analyst at eToro, believes Cardano could be a major project. eToro added ADA to its platform this week in response to customer demand for portfolio diversity. Competing exchanges have pursued similar moves to win over retail and institutional clients. SFOX announced Litecoin support for its high-volume and institutional trader clients. Bitfinex unveiled EOSfinex, a decentralized exchange built on EOSIO, in beta. The platform facilitates peer-to-peer settlement and high-volume blockchain transactions. EOSfinex offers three trading pairs: BTC/USD, ETH/USD, and EOS/USD.

Kraken users can trade ADA and QTUM on kraken.com starting Friday. The exchange hasn't enabled margin trading for these coins yet but plans to.
