Gameplay centers on assembling a cat army. Players breed their cats to create new specimens, battle other creatures for advantages, and equip them with gear from an in-game marketplace. That gear includes items reducing ability cooldowns and cosmetics that increase creature rarity. The cats themselves render in 3D, and players test their assembled teams in combat.

RiotCats developers cap the pre-order at the first 1000 buyers of Riot Packs. These bundles include rare, one-of-a-kind cats and limited-edition legendary items. The legendary designation carries real weight—these items exist only during the pre-launch phase and won't reappear after the game enters beta testing in October.
