The Vienna Stock Exchange (Wiener Börse) is now the third regulated market to offer cryptocurrency to investors. On September 1, the exchange began trading two products from 21Shares: the Bitcoin ETP with ticker 21XB (ABTC – WKN A2T64E) and the Ethereum ETP with ticker 21XE (AETH – WKN A2T68Z).

Thomas Rainer, head of development at Wiener Börse, described the benefits to local investors. The offerings provide "monitored, regulated, and transparent trading with real-time information and secure settlement via their regular brokers," he said.

Investors can trade these products across Austria, Switzerland, and Germany—the DACH region. "We are happy to share that Bitcoin is now accessible everywhere for both retail as well as institutional investors across the entire DACH region," said Rashwan. "Outside the DACH region, no other jurisdiction globally provides such comprehensive and ample access to Bitcoin."

In Singapore, the stock exchange announced a different approach to digital assets. The Singapore Exchange (SGX) will team with CryptoCompare, a UK data firm, to list price indexes for Bitcoin and Ethereum. The key difference: indexes show prices but don't allow trading. Companies in Singapore can monitor price movements in real time.

Simon Karaban, head of index services at SGX, positioned the launch as part of broader financial change. "As the world moves swiftly towards digitization in the creation and accumulation of wealth, digital assets are increasingly being adopted by investors," Karaban said.
