TEMCO, a Bitcoin-based supply chain platform, announced a partnership with BLOCKCHAIN i on October 16th. The collaboration gives TEMCO access to the accelerator's investors and advisors.
Andre Kim, BLOCKCHAIN i's CEO, explained the appeal of TEMCO's model. "The most profound feature I found during the meetings, was the fact you can see the entire distribution process from production to delivery in real-time," Kim said. He identified another advantage: "I found a great business potential in that the whole process is saved in the blockchain and the data is readily available to consumers."
TEMCO's platform connects producers, distributors, and consumers so they can monitor goods moving through the supply chain. The company pursues two business streams. Business intelligence software targets small and mid-size companies wanting to extract insights from blockchain data. A separate consumer app lets people track where their products originate and their journey forward.
Scott Yoon, TEMCO's co-founder and CEO, highlighted what the partnership would yield. "BLOCKCHAIN i and TEMCO have worked together from the beginning of the project on issues across-the-board, from which we learned a lot about the industry and gained key insights. I'm looking forward to the insights that blossoms from this prolonged partnership and will work towards growing this company to phenomenal proportions," Yoon said.
The partnership also introduced TEMCO to other players in the space. "Through BLOCKCHAIN i, the TEMCO team was able to meet global partners such as RSK (the world's first Bitcoin-based smart contract platform). The partnership with BLOCKCHAIN i and RSK are one of many strategic alliances to come. Through more partnerships, TEMCO will be able to become Korea's first Bitcoin dApp," Yoon added.
BLOCKCHAIN i functions as an investor, accelerator, and advisor within the blockchain sector. Will O'Brien, a former BitGo CEO, advises the firm. The accelerator has partnerships with ICO Today and Nexus One, and has invested in and accelerated RSK, Origo, Blockcloud, Chromapolis, Insureum, and Hint Chain.
