This week Uphold introduced Voxels as the official currency for Voxelus, a virtual reality platform where users create and trade digital content. Voxelus launches in April 2016 or before.

Members can buy Voxels in an exclusive presale without additional fees. Payment comes via bank transfer, credit or debit card, or Bitcoin. The exchange rate: 650 Voxels per Bitcoin. Purchases appear in member accounts and on Vox cards.

During the presale, members face trading constraints. They can buy, store, and send Voxels to other Uphold members, but cannot transfer them outside the network. When Voxelus launches, those constraints disappear and the market opens to everyone.

On the live platform, Voxel holders will purchase content, products, and services, and claim in-game rewards. CEO Helsey Minor discussed the vision in a recent conversation with our publication.
