The upgrade also lifts testnet throughput from 1,237 to 2,324 transactions per second and tightens the rules on how validator keys are retired.

The team blames an authorisation flaw in the Evmos stack its chain was built on. Rebuilding was impossible because Evmos itself was discontinued in May, so BB is moving to BNB Chain as a BEP-20 token.

A former employee kept the seed phrase after leaving, used it to launch the ASTEROID token, and together with three other wallets walked away with roughly $628,000. BNB Chain says it is pursuing legal action but has not named the individual or the venue.

The BNB Foundation destroyed 1,569,307 tokens in its 35th quarterly burn, pushing cumulative destruction past 62 million BNB and leaving the network with 134.79 million tokens — still 34.79 million away from its 100 million supply target.
